Balmela 2025 was successfully organized on 14th December 2025 at the SFS College Hall, with the joyful participation of over 525 children. The event was honoured by the presence of Mr. Sunil Mesre, DWCD Officer, as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Mushtaq Pathan, DCPU Officer, as the Guest of Honour. Other distinguished guests included Ms. Cinderella Michael, Air Hostess; Ms. Menakshi, Childline Officer; Fr. Praveen D’Souza OP; and Adv. Fr. Praveen Monteiro OP, Director of ICID. Staff members and volunteers of SFS College actively supported the programme.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp and a prayer dance, followed by a warm welcome of all guests with saplings. Fr. Praveen Monteiro delivered the opening note and led the inauguration of Balmela 2025. The children were inspired by the motivating address of Mr. Sunil Mesre, while Mr. Mushtaq Pathan spoke on child marriage and administered an oath against it. Ms. Cinderella Michael shared her experiences and encouraged the children to dream big.
The event continued with colourful cultural performances by children from different centres, filling the hall with joy and energy. A delicious lunch, fun games with prizes, and a lively DJ session added to the excitement. The programme concluded with the distribution of snacks, making Balmela 2025 a joyful and memorable celebration for all.
