{"id":12117,"date":"2026-10-17T11:35:33","date_gmt":"2026-10-17T11:35:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.icid.org.in\/?p=12117"},"modified":"2026-10-17T11:35:34","modified_gmt":"2026-10-17T11:35:34","slug":"international-day-of-the-girl-child-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.icid.org.in\/index.php\/2026\/10\/17\/international-day-of-the-girl-child-2\/","title":{"rendered":"International Day of the Girl Child"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Date: 15 October 2026<br>Venue: Zilla Parishad School, Nagpur<br>Programme: International Day of the Girl Child<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the occasion of the International Day of the Girl Child, a programme was organized at Zilla Parishad School, Nagpur, on 15 October 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The programme was graced by the presence of the following dignitaries:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mr. Sunil Mesare \u2013 DWCD<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mr. Mustakh Pathan \u2013 District Child Protection Officer, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mrs. Sadhana Hatwar \u2013 District Child Protection Officer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mr. Prasenjit Gaikwad \u2013 Alternative Education Work Coordinator<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mrs. Archana Shedge \u2013 Headmistress of the School<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adv. Praveen Monteiro \u2013 Director, Indian Center for Integrated Development (ICID)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the programme, the children were informed about child rights, the importance of education, child protection and safety, prevention of child marriage, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. These topics were explained through practical examples and useful information to help children understand their rights and responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The children were encouraged to remain aware of their rights, continue their education, protect themselves from unsafe situations, and build a bright future through education. The programme aimed to promote awareness about the importance of girls&#8217; education, safety, dignity, and equal opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the end of the programme, Adv. Praveen Monteiro, Director of ICID, expressed his sincere gratitude to all the dignitaries, the school headmistress, and the teachers for their valuable presence and support.
